As the season turns, Diplodicus and Sealion set out on a calm forest walk with a sensible plan: leave early, visit Aunt Winifred, and safely avoid the annual chaos of Herring Day. Confident they’ve timed things just right, the pair pause to work out exactly when the day will fall this year — following a famously complicated set of forest rules involving animals, moss, and the moon.

What begins as a reassuring explanation slowly unravels into mounting confusion, leading to a sudden and alarming realisation that their careful calculations may have come far too late.
